Judo Class 13: Sensei Pinch-My-Arm

Ow: 8 and 8 and 8 and 8 and 8!
Times I wanted to punch a black belt: 1
Times I’m punched a black belt: Are you kidding?
Demotivation level: Orange

So, this was a tough but very rewarding class. I learned a lot, but I left feeling demotivated. Let me explain. We had a sensei from the other Dojo in town come by to visit, and I was very lucky to be paired with him. I was learning a lot from a different perspective, and very happy - except - when he gripped my gi, and twisted it in a certain way, it gave an excruciating pinch on my triceps. I’m trying not to be a total wuss here, but the thing freaking hurt and it was over and over and over again. I tried to say ‘ow you are pinching me’ but it just wasn’t getting through. I did my best to grin and bear it! I was learning a lot. I was thanking for the one on one time with a highly skilled individual. But freaking ow I didn’t get into judo to get pinched. After the practice my arm was COVERED in bruises. Pinch yourself hard enough to cause a bruise. I don’t bruise very easily. You could see why this was annoying.

Funny that such a small thing could be so demotivating, but I knew I was coming back on Wednesday. 11th Dan or Death!
